Sagra of ‘Fallone’ | Selci in Sabina
Fallone, in case you were wondering, are a kind of ‘wrap’ of dough which is stuffed with green vegetables, (usually swiss chard), and then baked in a (preferably wood) oven, Fallone are a wonderful example of a traditional “cucina povere” recipe from Sabina. They are very simple yet delicious.
On the 27th May 2012, a festival will be held in Selci in Sabina, in honour of the humble Fallone. Alongside the food, there will be food and wine stalls, tastings, games including a medieval dual, a market, fireworks and music in the evening.
